I should know better than to start a blog post at 11:49 pm but I couldn't sleep and this idea popped in my head so here I sit starting a new blog. A food blog. Not your average food blog. I may not be consistent and I certainly won't be taking professional photos of what I make. If you're cooking Paleo, how do you have time to arrange it all nice on your most beautiful plates after cleaning everything and setting everything up just right for that one amazing photo to go on your food blog? Forget it. Snap a pic with the iPhone and DIG IN. Maybe its the ravenous (nursing) mom in me but ain't nobody got time for all the fancy shenanigans. Just 'get in my belly!' What movie is that from? I don't think I ever saw it. Just heard that quote a lot. Guess it stuck.
Anywho, see why its not good to start blogging at now 11:54 pm? I ramble. But at least now I have a place to post pics of paleo recipes that actually turn out and that actually taste good if I manage to snap a pic before I consume it. Which actually happens a lot. There's something about real food that deserves a picture. Almost demands it. It's so beautiful. If only my love of it's beauty would lend itself to a love of cooking. I really don't enjoy cooking that much. It's like running though. No one likes to get going on a run but once you're running and especially once you're done, you enjoy it and a friend once told me, "You never regret a run." I guess you could say the same about cooking. "You never regret cooking a healthy, hearty meal." Until you burn yourself with a splash of the hot oil...then you wish you had headed down the road to Pie Five. Let THEM do the cooking.
Well, so there you have it. The intro to my 'not your average' food blog. Maybe tomorrow there will be pictures of food involved. Who knows what tomorrow will hold? Or today actually. It's now 12 am. I should bounce.
Stay tuned for more on Pass the Paleo, Please. Or BALi. Or Caveman. Or Whole30. Or whatever spin you want to put on it for whatever your body needs. Paleo just started with a 'P'.
Good night.
